How to edit MP4 files with MP4 video editor?

Step 1. Run the software. Click "File > Import Media..." or "Ctrl + I" on the key board to add your MP4 files.

The easiest way to view all the actions that you can do the files in the Files and Effects Area is to use the right-click express menu.

Step 2. Right click on any of the MP4 video you want to edit and then check Add to Main Video option to add files to the Timeline/Storyboard area.

Step 3. Trimming movie. Right-click the file in the Files and Effects Area and select the Trim option. There are two options available:

  • Trim - lets the user change the video clip duration cutting out the unnecessary parts in the beginning and the end of it.
  • MultiTrim - lets the user detect the scenes and change the video clip cutting out the unnecessary parts in any place of the video clip.

Step 4. Export audio. Right-click the file in the Files and Effects Area and select the Extract Audio option. Select the location and enter the name for your audio track, choose the format - compressed .mp3 or uncompressed .wav - and click the Save button.The audio track will be automatically imported to the Audio section of the Files and Effects Area.

Step 5. Adjust Aspect Ratio. We'd recommend that you use the following simple rules while choosing the necessary aspect for your output video. Use the Aspect Ratio buttons of the Top Toolbar.

4:3 Aspect Ratio button - the 4:3 aspect ratio is used in case you plan to watch your output video on a common CRT-display or CRT-television set that has the proportions of the width and height 4:3.
16:9 Aspect Ratio button - the 16:9 aspect ratio is used in case you plan to watch your output video on a wide-screen LCD or plasma display or TV-set that has the proportions of the width and height 16:9.

Step 6. After all the above settings, click to output your MP4 files to other video format, Discs, Portable Devices and other destination.
